Lady Dragons roll

PROCTORVILLE — It’s official.

After clinching no worse than a share of a third straight Ohio Valley Conference title on Thursday, the Fairland Lady Dragons clinched the title outright yet again.

The Lady Dragons cruised to a 78-31 OVC win Saturday over the Rock Hill Redwomen.

Fairland is now 16-3 overall and 9-0 in the conference. Rock Hill falls to 3-15 and ends 1-9 in the league.

Mackenzie Riley scored a career-high 16 points to lead Fairland. Terra Stapleton and Chandler Fulks scored 12 points each and Caitlin Stone had 11.

Kacie Russell scored 10 for Rock Hill.

Fulks had five points as Fairland took a 21-1 first quarter lead.

Fulks scored seven points and Riley six in the second quarter as the lead went to 42-17 at the half. Russell hit a pair of 3-pointers in the quarter for Rock Hill.

Stapleton scored eight points in third quarter and Stone added five as the lead ballooned to 64-24.
