Mouse Kennedy

Hugh L. “Mouse” Kennedy, 76, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born May 26, 1937, the son of the late Pat Kennedy and Elizabeth Cox Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy was a United States Army veteran and retired in 1982 from CSX Railroad as an engineer after 30 years. He was baptized at Christ Episcopal Church and was a 1955 graduate of Ironton High School. Mouse enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a member of the F&AM Lodge 198, VFW Post 8850, Ironton Elks, Moose and Eagles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ross Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Hicks Kennedy, whom he married Oct. 21, 1960; his daughter, Jonda Lee Kennedy and her fiancé, Darrell Gene Friend, of Ironton; and one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Jerry Ward, of Hebron.
Friends may call 11 a.m.-1p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home. F&AM Lodge 198 will have a Masonic service starting a 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service officiated by James Curtis Murnahan. Paul Toland
Paul Toland, 50, of South Webster, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014. Paul was surrounded by the loves of his life, his soulmate and wife, Kim, his daughter, Erin, and her husband, Zachary Marshall; his son, Erik; his wife, Destiny; and his grandkids, Mercadez and Kaden.
Paul is also survived by his mother, Anna Miller Toland; sister Kim Todd; and brother, Franklin Toland.
Paul is preceded in death by his father, Russell Toland.
Paul worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Lawrence County Bass Club. Paul and Kim enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and just spending time together.
Paul is known by those who knew him well as a quick-witted individual, who was never at a loss for words when it came to bringing a quick smile to another person’s face. Paul’s willingness and ability to help others or to fix things was second-to-none, it was his second nature.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at D. W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster with pastor Merit Smith officiating. Internment will follow at South Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Anita Hord
Anita Louise Millhouse Hord, 65, of South Point, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. Eva Darlene Lundy, 82, of South Point, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville. Fannie Maxine McKee, 89, of South Point, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point with the Rev. Bryan Chaffins officiating.
