Honor to share Ro-Na stage with Bare

I have in the past sung with Bobby Bare two other times in Catlettsburg, Ky., opening for the country legend George Jones.

But it was such an honor and privilege to be called on the stage of the Ro-Na Theatre by Bobby to sing “God Bless America Again,” which he recorded and wrote.

And to sing on stage with not only a country singer and songwriter, but to sing with a Country Music Hall of Famer.

I grew up in Pedro next door to Bobby as a child. I absolutely love that “Bare.” It was always a thrill when he would come home and come around the hill to our house.

He had a special place in our home and our hearts. I would always go to see him perform even if it was three or four hours away to drive.

I absolutely love that Bare and the Bare family.

Thanks to the Friends of Ironton and especially Bobby Bare.
