SOUTH POINT — The Subway restaurant in the Westview Plaza in South Point was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday night.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Jeff Lawless a male suspect entered the restaurant at just before 10 p.m. brandishing a handgun and demanding cash.

“The employees at the restaurant complied and gave him the money,” Lawless said. “After getting the undisclosed amount of cash the man then fled and got in the passenger seat of a small black vehicle where a male accomplice was waiting for him.”

“Our detectives are continuing to work the case,” Lawless said. “We have the surveillance footage and it is being reviewed right now.”

In the meantime the sheriff’s office is asking anyone with any information concerning the crime to call (740) 532-3525.
