Lemley, Stevens lead Panther golfers to tri-match victory

LAVALETTE, W.Va. — The Chesapeake Panthers used a 2-against-1 to win a golf tri-match.

Derek Lemley and Jake Stevens each shot in the 30s to offset a 36 by Coal Grove’s Brent Morgan as the Panthers beat the Hornets and South Point Pointers in a match at Sugarwood Golf Course.

Lemley shot a 35 and Stevens a 37 as the Panthers post a 161 team score.. Jacob Henson carded a 41, Austin Hutchison 48, Justin Black 50 and Kobe McWhorter had a 57.

Brandon Adkins and Trevor Deere each shot a 46 for the Hornets who had a 175 total. Ryan Malone was next with a 47, Chase McKnight 49 and Tori Holmes had a 51.

Tyler Porter shot a 48 and Eddie Chinn 49 for the Pointers who finished at 206. Madison Riley shot a 53, Beau Taylor 56, Barbara Collins 57 and Logan Wade had a 61.
