Many things can compound and present challenges for school age children while some of those things can affect both children and adults.

One challenge that can cause distress for children and adults is having a speech disorder like stuttering.

More specifically, a challenge like a speech impediment for a child can seem like an obstacle that cannot be overcome.

Children now, however, have the ability to relate to others through a DVD at the Briggs Lawrence County Library that was designed specifically for those who have an issue with stuttering.

This is a positive outlet for children to gain a better understanding of the disability and how to better handle various factors that may occur personally or from others.

Most everyone has had a point in their life where they want to say something and it doesn’t come out right.

Imagine if this was a daily occurrence that had to be dealt with along with the fear of reading a passage of a book in class or simply speaking in public.

These are the types of things that children and adults with a speech disorder face each day.

It is important for those who have the disorder, along with those who do not, to learn more about this issue and educate themselves on how it can impact others.
