Chesy girls drop pair of VB games

CHESAPEAKE — The Chesapeake Lady Panthers have had better days.

The Lady Panthers dropped two of three volleyball games last week with both losses coming to Ohio Valley Conference foes.

Chesapeake beat Symmes Valley 25-9, 25-12, 25-12 on Monday as Carley Lester scored 17 points.

The Lady Panthers won the reserve game 25-19, 12-25, 25-16 with McKenna Curry getting 14 points and Madison Smith 13.

In Tuesday’s game, Chesapeake lost to Rock Hill in five sets, 25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25 and 8-15 in the tiebreaker despite 23 points by Mariah Freyre.

In the reserve game, the Lady Panthers won 25-7, 25-21 as Maddy Rose scored 7 points.

South Point downed the Lady Panthers on Thursday in straight sets, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14. Lester had 8 points for Chesapeake.

The Lady Pointers won the reserve game 25-12, 25-7. Curry had 7 points for the Lady Panthers.

Chesapeake visits Portsmouth on Monday.
