Due to a water line repair on Oct. 29, 2014 in South Point, the South Point Water Department is advising residents on County Road 1 from Allied Heights Subdivision (Township Roads 1315, 1316 and 1317) to Randall Street to vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking (including water used to make ice), cooking or oral hygiene.

The South Point Water Department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated. The possibility does exist, however, and is issuing this advisory as a precaution.

If no further notice is given after Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, then the samples are normal and the water is safe.
