GALLIPOLIS — Rock Hill head coach Dave Hopper gave his players a simple 3-word game plan, and the simplicity made things difficult for the Gallipolis Blue Devils.

Rock Hill’s simple game plan produced a 53-43 win over the Blue Devils on Saturday and snapped a six-game losing streak.

“I had one key on the board: just play ball. They came out and played and we had three guys in double figures. It was good win for us,” said Hopper.

Austin Collins scored 16 points, Jake Falls had 13 points and Austin Barcus added 11 as Rock Hill improved to 3-7.

The Redmen also avenged an earlier 49-46 loss at home to the Blue Devils on Dec. 30.

Devin Henry scored 14 points to lead Gallipolis (2-10).

The Blue Devils led 11-9 at the end of the first quarter as Collins and Falls combined for all of Rock Hill’s points.

Collins scored 7 points in the second quarter to match the Blue Devils entire output as the Redmen wen up 21-18 at the half.

Barcus got 4 points in the third quarter to help offset 7 points by Henry and Rock Hill was up 32-29.

Falls scored 6 points while Trystan Matney and Collins had 4 each as the Redmen outscored the Blue Devils 21-14 in the fourthquarter. Alex White and Kole Carter had 5 points each for Gallipolis.

Rock Hill visits Portsmouth on Tuesday.
