Juried art show opens tonight

Student Megan Cox helps frame and mount pieces of work for the upcoming High School Juried Show at Ohio University Southern.

Presenting a concept through technique and skill was the criteria for the judges determining what artwork would be part of the 5th Annual Tri-State High School Juried Art Competition at the Ohio University Southern Ironton Campus.

There were 362 pieces submitted with only 71 accepted from 55 student artists from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.

The show opens tonight with a reception at 7 p .m. at the OUS gallery following an awards ceremony at the Bowman Auditorium at 6 p.m.
