Carolyn Ray

Carolyn Louise (Reed) Ray, 66, was wrapped in the arms of our Lord and his angels to begin her new life in Heaven, Sunday, March 1, 2015, due to a long illness. She was born in Ironton on June 20, 1948 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Reed and Mae Delong; her stepfather, Ike Delong; her husband, Dalmer Ray; a brother, Raymond Reed; and a sister, Tammie Sue Reed.

She is survived by three daughters, Angela (Dwayne) Cole, Tammie (Nathaniel) Reed and Tina Morgan; a stepdaughter, Shelia Ray; a stepson, Chris Ray; a brother, Charles (Joan) Reed; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Adam, Rayne (and our newest bundle of joy due mid-June, Carolyn) Sara, Kasey, Kenneth, Heaven and Cheyenne; 14 great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

She will be greatly missed. Her pure heart and love for her family and friends will always live on.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Lenny Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Bald Knob Cemetery and visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Deel, Matthew Deel, Adam Weinberg, Kenny Ritchie, Dwayne Cole and Nathaniel Conley. Lawrence Hunt

Lawrence “Tony” Hunt, 74, of Ashville, formerly of Ironton, died Saturday Feb. 28, 2015, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Judith “Judy” Ann DeMent Hunt. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with ministers Mike Gross and Jason Ridgeway officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Chapel Cemetery and visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
