PROCTORVILLE — The Huntington Highlanders went 2-for-2.

Huntington won both the boys and girls meets at Friday’s Riverside Physical Therapy/Dragons Invitational.

Huntington managed to win the boys’ meet with 111 points while the Fairland Dragons were runners-up with 94 points.

Belpre was third with 84 points followed by Gallipolis with 75, Portsmouth 63, Chesapeake 50, Ashland 36, Ironton 26, and Huntington St. Joseph 4.

In the girls’ meet, Huntington had 122 points to win the meet while Gallipolis was second with 103 points.

Ashland was next with 90 followed by Fairland with 86, Chesapeake 45, Coal Grove 33, Belpre 29, Portsmouth 25 and Ironton 10.

Huntington won behind the performance of Saffiyah Mitchell who won the 300-meter hurdles and the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She was also second in the long jump.

Fairland got first-place finishes from Jake Wireman (12-6) in the pole vault, Hunter Ashley (145-11) in the discus and high jump (6-1) and Zack McKinney in the shot put (46-5.5).

In the girls’ meet, Chesapeake’s Atiya Spaulding won the long jump (16-0.5) and the high jump (5-4). Fairland’s Jessica Price took the pole vault (8-5).

The South Point Invitational will be held on Friday.
