CHESAPEAKE — Hits were scarce, but unfortunately walks were too abundant.

Chesapeake had just two hits but took advantage of 11 walks to edge the Rock Hill Redmen 4-2 on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Jacob Henson went six innings to get the win. He struck out 10, did not walk a batter and gave up three hits. Blake Lester worked the seventh for the save as he struck out three.

Gabe Marzicola, Danny Long and Sean McFann held the Panthers to two hits and struck out nine but also combined for 11 walks.

The Panthers (7-4, 7-1) got a run in the third when Casey McComas doubled, moved up on a ground out and scored on a passed ball.

Chesapeake got three runs in the fifth.

Henson reached on an error and Lester doubled him home. Four straight walks produced two more runs.

Rock Hill (0-8, 0-7) got its two runs in the sixth.

Cody Lewis reached on an error, Drew McClaskey beat out an infield hit and a passed ball moved the runners up. Corey Noel grounded out for an RBI and a passed ball scored the second run.

Heath Carpenter was 2-3 for the Redmen.

Chesapeake plays at Ironton on Wednesday.
