PEDRO — The Rock Hill Redwomen were playing all the hits.

The Redwomen cranked out 12 hits for a 14-4 five-inning rout of the Vinton County Lady Vikings on Tuesday on senior night.

Jenna Lane remained on fire as she went 3-for-4 with three doubles and four runs batted in for the Redwomen (21-1).

Senior Brooklynn Kingrey was 2-3 and fellow senior Morgan Riedel was 1-2 with an RBI.

Makenzi Harris belted a home run and Jill Hairston was 1-2 with a double and two RBI.

Anna Darby was 1-2 with a triple while Kaci Russell was 1-3 and Taylor Hall 1-2.

“We’ve really been hitting the ball well lately,” said Rock Hill coach Sam Gue. “The middle of our lineup is swinging good bats right now.”

Hairston got the win as she struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Lane had a two-run double, Harrah it a solo home run and Darby’s triple ignited a five-run second inning.

“Darby’s hit really sparked us,” said Gue.

Vinton County (4-12) was led by Lexi Smith who was 2-3 with an RBI, Kelsey Ward 2-2, and Zoe Ruckel who went 1-2 with a double and an RBI.

“Vinton County is a young team but they hit the ball well. We made some errors early to help them, but they weren’t a bad team,” said Gue.

Rock Hill hosts Portsmouth on Wednesday in a league game.
