Legislative trip helps community

The adage goes, if you want something, go straight to the source.

That is exactly what attendees will seek Tuesday when Lawrence County will be represented in Columbus during the annual Legislative Day.

All too often, we have found that Southern Ohio is seemingly left out of many things from funding to projects, and making this trip each year is more about giving a voice for our county and to our elected officials in the state capital.

This is certainly not about lodging complaints about what we haven’t received, but rather to help sew a seed so to speak. This annual event affords our county’s government officials, business and community leaders and residents the ability to communicate with those in the statehouse about the things happening in Lawrence County. Additionally, the annual trip provides the ability to present the importance and how our state legislature can aid in working to continue that progress for our county and region.

For many years now, Legislative Day, hosted by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, has been an influential component to the economic development.

If you want more information about the trip or would like to reserve a spot, contact the Lawrence County Chamber at 740-377-4550 by Monday afternoon.

A unified voice from Lawrence County will help our future as a whole.
