Revamp ideas for holiday

While the Christmas season may still be several months away, working on a plan to usher in some new life into the holiday season in downtown Ironton is the goal of Ironton aLive.

The civic organization will have an event this evening at 5:30 at the city center in Ironton to receive input from the community as part of the preparations for the upcoming Christmas events.

While the current events, lights and parade are nice, it is time to re-energize and re-focus the efforts to get people into town during the holiday season.

Working to enhance the current events and displays downtown will not only benefit the city and its residents, but it can also help area businesses by attracting more people downtown who might stop into a retail shop or have a meal.

This is a step in the right direction and we applaud the efforts and vision of those working to revitalize the Christmas season in downtown Ironton.

We encourage the community to be involved in this project and provide ideas that you would like to see happen in the upcoming holiday season.

Working together to develop and seeing the visions come to life will benefit everyone.
