Working together for others

For many, the next meal can sometimes be a relative unknown. However, organizations like Harvest for the Hungry food pantry have been working to help those who worry or wonder about those next meals.

However, while the pantry is one of many whose goal is to fight hunger in Lawrence County, it is important to remember that none of these entities can do it alone.

It takes the entire community to work together to ensure these organizations are open and available to help those in need.

That was the case when a carnival was held at Liebert Corporation last week, as the company held the carnival to help provide peanut butter to the pantry.

We commend those involved in organizing the event, as it takes a variety of avenues to be a resource for the communities those pantries serve.

While some may think that people simply seek out food pantries and to look for a handout, many times those who visit a food pantry do work but need help to make ends meet.

Ultimately, one of the many great things about being a Lawrence County resident is that we are willing to work together to help those in need, and these organizations are not different.
