Female Flyers fall at Wheelersburg

WHEELERSBURG — Playing a tough schedule means tough games, and the St. Joseph Female Flyers were locked in yet another tough soccer game on Saturday.
In yet another tough matchup, the Female Flyers fell 4-1 to the Wheelersburg Lady Pirates.
St. Joseph is now 6-5-1 on the season. Wheelersburg avenged its only loss with the win and is now 6-1.
Wheelersburg took a 1-0 lead in the first half as Morgan Willoughby scored a goal with an assist from Sydney White at the 19-minute mark.
The score stayed that way until Christen Risner scored at the 25:37 mark of the second half with Willoughby getting the assist.
St. Joseph answered quickly as Lynsey Booker scored at the 25:16 mark. Emma Saxby had the assist.
The Lady Pirates got the final two goals. Sophie Hagans scored at the 15:10 mark as Brittany Swim registered the assist.
Swim then scored with just 3:30 to go with Risner getting the assist.
St. Joseph played at Ashland, Ky., on Monday and visits North Adams this Saturday.
