Purchases to benefit local charities

ASHLAND, Ky. — Ashland Town Center’s annual “Cash For Your Cause” will award a total of $3,750 in cash prizes to the five non-profit organizations with the most points.

Shoppers can help their favorite charity earn points when they turn in receipts from purchases made at the mall Monday, May 2–Sunday, May 22.

Participation is easy. Guests are encouraged to bring their day-of-purchase receipts to the Guest Services Center and the mall will award one point for each dollar spent at Ashland Town Center.

The non-profit organization with the most points on May 22 will win $1,250, second place will receive $1,000, third will be awarded $750, fourth will be given $500 and fifth will be presented with $250.

Shoppers can earn double points by shopping on Mondays or Tuesdays during the promotion. Each receipt redeemed will provide a shopper with the chance to win a $25 American Express Gift Card.

One winner will be selected at random and awarded each week. Points are updated weekly and shoppers can visit the Guest Services Center to check the organizations that are listed in the top five rankings.

Additionally, Ashland Town Center will host a charity showcase on Saturday, May 14 from 1-5 p.m. with participating non-profit organizations.

All local non-profit organizations and civic groups that are interested in joining Ashland Town Center’s “Cash for Your Cause” must submit a copy of its IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt determination letter as well as an application, which is available in the mall’s Management Office.

To be eligible, an organization must provide support and services to children, senior citizens, health issues, the arts or families in crises. The deadline to apply is April 22.
