Carol Fest set for Sunday

Several local performers scheduled

The annual Carol Fest, featuring local musicians performing holiday favorites, is scheduled for Sunday.

The event, organized by the Ironton Council for the Arts, is produced by Kristen Martin, the finance director for Ashland Independent Schools, and Rob Hale, Pastor of the Ironton First Church of the Nazarene and will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Ironton High School auditorium.

Admission is free, but adults are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy and to bring two canned food items to donate to those in need.

Performers will include Carl Taylor, a retired vocal music teacher from the Boyd County Schools, featured with The Singing Kernels, a premier Barbershop Chorus from Ashland, Robert Watson and his bluegrass band, “Wats Cooking,” The Ironton Community Choir, directed by Martin, and The Ohio University Southern Community Band.
