Hall scores 27 as Lady Panthers beat Gallia

GALLIPOLIS — It wasn’t hard to award a game ball.
Natalee Hall turned in possibly her best all-around performance as she led the Chesapeake Lady Panthers to a 62-37 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Gallipolis Blue Angels on Monday.
Hall had a career-high 27 points to go with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals as Chesapeake improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the OVC.
Karli Davis added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the Lady Panthers while Brooke Webb had 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.
Hunter Corey scored 12 points for Gallipolis (2-1, 0-1).
Chesapeake was down 9-7 early but scored 7 straight points to close the first quarter and take a 14-9 lead.
Webb scored all 7 of her points in the second quarter while Hall — who scored 7 points in the first quarter — and Davis had 5 points each and the Lady Panthers outscored Gallipolis 23-9 to take a 37-18 halftime cushion.
Corey and Kimberly Edelmann scored 5 points each in the third quarter as Gallipolis cut the deficit to 48-34. Hall had 8 points in the third quarter.
But Hall scored 7 points in the fourth quarter and the defense held the Blue Angels to a mere 3 points.
On Thursday, Chesapeake hosts South Point and Gallipolis entertains Rock Hill.
