AID — Rileigh Morris powered up.

Morris hit a home run in each game and drove in four runs as the Rock Hill Redwomen split a pair of games in the Valley of the Thunder on Saturday.

Rock Hill beat Middletown Madison 6-3 in their first game and lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to Western Brown in the second game.

In the first game, the Redwomen got all the runs they needed with a five-run second.

Anna Darby walked, Samantha Stamper had a bunt single, Baylie Harrah singled, Madison Harper walked and Kelsey Olderham doubled to clear the bases. Morris then smacked a two-run homer.

Rock Hill added a run in the third when Gracie Stevens walked, Stamper reached on an error and Harrah had an RBI single.

Madison scored an unearned run in the third and two unearned runs in the sixth.

Hairston got the win as she struck out three and walked only one.

In the second game, Western Brown got two runs in the first but Rock Hill tied the game in the third when Taylor Hall singled and Morris hit a two-run homer.

Western Brown scored a run in each the fifth and sixth innings to lead 4-2.

Rock Hill mounted a rally in the seventh that fell just short.

Morris reached second on an error and went to third on a passed ball. Hairston was safe on an error and Stevens grounded out as Morris scored.

Hairston pitched well in defeat. She struck out four and did not walk a batter.

Rock Hill is at Coal Grove on Monday.
