It’s chapter one of the Reds’ Hall of Fame Chapter Event in the Tri-State.
The Cincinnati Reds’ Hall of Fame Museum Chapter meetings will be held in Athens on Tuesday, Huntington on Wednesday and in Morehead, Ky., on Thursday.
Former Reds’ outfielder Herm Winningham will be the guest speaker at each event. Wednesday’s meeting in Huntington will be from 6-to-8 p.m.
The meeting is free for HOF members and $30 for non-members. Anyone interested in attending should RSVP by calling Sherry at (513) 765-7926 or email her at SRowland@reds.com
Members should be ready to present their membership cards. Attendees can order off the Fat Patty’s menu.
Winningham was a member of the 1990 Reds’ World Championship team who batted .500 in the four-game sweep of the Oakland A’s. He finished Game 4 when Billy Hatcher was injured and he scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning.
Winningham still holds the team’s modern day record with three triples in one game when he got the hat trick against the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was drafted ninth overall by the New York Mets in 1981 and spend nine seasons in the major leagues.
The event in Athens will be from 6-to-8 p.m. at The Eclipse Company Store, 11309 Jackson Drive, The Plains, OH 45780.
The Morehead chapter will be from 6-to-8 p.m. at Morehead City Park, Peggy’s Place Building, 100 CB Cornette, Morehead, Ky. 40351.
