ODOT issues traffic advisory

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced a traffic advisory, which includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Lawrence County.

• State Route 378 is closed south of Willow Wood for a series of culvert replacement projects. The project sites are located between McKinney Creek-Symmes Creek Road and State Route 217. The closure will be in effect for up to 30 days, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via State Route 243, State Route 7, State Route 775 and State Route 217.

• State Route 93 will be reduced to one 12-foot lane for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located between County Road 34 (Buckhorn-Pine Creek Road) and Township Road 258 (Kimball Creek Road). Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained by temporary signals. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-fall.

• State Route 93 is reduced to one 10-foot lane for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located between Township Road 326 (Sawmill Hollow Road) and Township Road 199 (Mt. Vernon-Howard Ridge Road), one mile north of State Route 373. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid-fall.

• Operations for a resurfacing project are nearing completion on State Route 93 from its junction with U.S. 52 at Ironton to Township Road 623 (Sand Hollow Road) near State Route 373. The project also includes bridge repair work at various locations within the project zone. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer.

• A bridge rehabilitation project is underway on State Route 140 between County Road 33 (Blackfork-Firebrick Road) and the Jackson County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals. All work is scheduled to be completed by mid-summer.

• State Route 141 is reduced to one lane between Township Road 134 (Eph Osborn Road) and State Route 775 at Wilgus for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one 10-foot lane with temporary signals and/or flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed in early fall.

• State Route 775 is reduced to one 10-foot lane for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located between Township Road 220 (Trace Creek Marion Ridge Road) and County Road 13 (Long Creek Road), midway between State Route 217 and State Route 141. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. The project is anticipated to be completed in mid-summer.

• Major construction of the new Ironton-Russell Bridge has been completed and is open to traffic. Crews will be completing minor finishing work on the structure as weather permits. However, there should be little to no impact on traffic.
