George Wilson

Feb. 22, 1946 — Aug. 28, 2017

George Edward Wilson, 71, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 22, 1946, the son of the late Everett and Anna Collins Wilson. He was also preceded in death on Dec. 31, 2016, by his wife, Judy K. Shope Wilson, whom he married on Jan. 16, 1967.
George attended Ironton High School and was baptized at an early age in the Christ Episcopal Church in Ironton. Mr. Wilson was a retired dog warden for the City of Ironton, and over the years had worked several other jobs, including driving a cab, lawn care worker and being a former wrestling official. He was also a former member of the Republican Executive Party Committee.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Anne Wilson; two brothers, Roger Wilson and Everett (Mutt) Wilson; and a sister, Mary Lou Wilson.
George is survived by three daughters, Angela (David) Cooper and Elizabeth (Fred) White, both of Ironton, and Robin (Butch Corn) Wilson, of Garrison, Kentucky; two brothers, Steve Wilson and Jim Wilson, both of Ironton; four sisters, Juanita Wilson, Eva Sites and Phyllis Wilson, all of Ironton, and Ruth Wood, of Elida; grandchildren, Alyssa Cade, Erik Bazell, Kodi Pizelli, Diandra Roach, David Cooper, Rachel Bazell, Kiplyn Cooper and Brianna Cooper; great-grandchildren, Riley Cade, Tristan Cade, Jace Cade, Anya Cooper, Jillian Bazell, Edward Bazell and Jared Bazell; and his angel friend, Debbie Schneider, of West Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Bob Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

Arvella Click

Arvella “Billie” Eileen Click, 95, of Ironton, passed away peacefully Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at Harbor Health Care Center, Ironton. Mrs. Click was born May 26, 1922, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late James H. and Pearl (Massie) Maddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Homer Click, whom she married Oct. 14, 1939.
Mrs. Click was a graduate of Ironton High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Gary Click; two sisters, Anna Rowe and Thelma Click; and five brothers, Luther Maddy, Harold Maddy, Lloyd Maddy, Everett Maddy and James Maddy
She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Click, of South Point, and Paul Click, of Nashville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with Brother Chad Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, and visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Ronald Adkins

July 7, 1938 — Aug. 23, 2017

Ronald Lee Adkins, 79, of South Point, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, in Florida Hospital New Smyrna, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The Omar, West Virginia native was born July 7, 1938, a son to the late George and Edna (Sellards) Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was a graduate of South Point High School and Weaver Airlines School. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran, proudly serving his country from 1957-1961. He was a retired Customer Service Director from U.S. Air and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, the Rev. George Adkins, the Rev. Frank Adkins, Billy Adkins, Larry Adkins and Rodney Adkins; two sisters, Barbara Purvis and Betty Mays; and niece, Diane Miller.
He is survived by two sisters, Patty (George) Stamper, of Ironton, and Monnie (Carol) Day, of Wisconsin; brother, Jack (Toni) Adkins, of South Point; dear friend, Tom Swicegood, of Edgewater, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor David Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Alberta Wagner

July 10, 1933 — Aug. 28, 2017

Alberta Wagner, 84, of Columbus, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at the Sanctuary of Ohio Valley. The Circleville native was born July 10, 1933, the daughter of the late John H. and Dovie Mullins Burks.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, David Wagner, whom she married on Jan. 30, 1956.
Alberta was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and former assistant manager for K-Mart, where she worked for 25 years and retired in 2000. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, John and Candy Burks; and brother-in-law, Carl Wooten.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Carol) Wagner, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Terry (Rose) Wagner, of Columbus; brother, Bill (Shirley) Burks, of Ironton; sister, Pat Wooten, of Ironton; five grandchildren, David Wagner, Aaron Wagner, Travis Wagner and Felicia McGinnis, all of Columbus, and Kelsey Plybon Baird, of Ashland, Kentucky; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be noon Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Henry LeMaster

Dec. 4, 1929 — Aug. 28, 2017

Henry B. LeMaster, 87, of South Point, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at home. He was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Dock Willis and Mary Ann Mae Haywood LeMaster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Jean LeMaster; two brothers; and three sisters.
He worked at Allied Chemical for 29 years, and retired from Novamont as an electrical foreman after 12 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of South Point.
Henry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Baker LeMaster; two daughters, Cheryl (Ben) Davis and Carol (Michael) Cleary; three sisters, Joan Stephens, Elaine Dunger and Donna Druell; three grandchildren, Chris Davis, Mark Thompson and Kimbery Crager; and seven great-grandchildren, Jenni, David, Will, Ethan, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Amelia.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, with pastor Phillip Warren officiating.

Jeff Anderson, 68, of  Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at VAMC, Chillicothe.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Home and  Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow in Donnel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, West Virginia.
