If you have a comment about the proposed relocation of the bridge, sitting around waiting for the Ohio Department of Transportation to make a decision would be foolish.

Once ODOT announces a site, all the protesting in the world won’t really make a difference. If you want to let ODOT where you would put the bridge and why, you need to get your comments to the proper authorities now.

Sitting around complaining about the proposed sites and how each will affect the business community and neighborhoods in the city will only increase your blood pressure. The only way to have an effect on the location of the bridge is to write or call ODOT.

ODOT is a state-run department operated with state tax dollars. The department’s job is to listen to the people and to create plans regarding the state’s transportation system that make sense and best serve the needs of the citizens.

But to make a decision that benefits the community, ODOT has to know how the community feels. If you have an opinion one way or the other, make sure you let someone other than your neighbor know, and don’t wait.

You won’t get too many more chances. After the bridge is built is too late.
