Quarterback Jarrod Smith aggravated a pulled muscle and did not play the second half. Wide receiver Shane Holsinger, who is the backup quarterback, had a toe injury that forced him to leave the game before the end of the first half. Third team quarterback and starting halfback Chris Conwell is still injured and did not play.

The Pointers fumbled five times, four the second half.

"We had our chances early, but we just can’t seem to make a play when we need it on both sides of the ball," said Pointers coach Chris Watts.

"Somewhere along the line we have to step up and make a play. So far we haven’t done that."

Smith hit 7 of 15 for 78 yards and an interception before leaving with the injury.

Eaches had two interceptions, Shawn Terry picked off one pass, B. J. Belville recorded 12 tackles, David Chapman 10 tackles, and Coleman Gorby nine stops to lead the defense.

Jason Walker ran 26 times for 156 yards to spark Tolsia .

South Point, 0-3, scored first when Justin Eaches ran 10 yards for a touchdown. Jared Waggoner kicked the extra point and it was 7-0.

Walker’s 15-yard scoring run and the conversion kick tied the game in the first quarter, and a 35-yard touchdown pass from Sean Meddings to Daniel Walker in the second quarter put the Rebels up for good at 14-7.

Meddings had a 1-yard run for a touchdown the third quarter that extended the lead to 27-7.
