Kenneth Auble

Aug. 11, 1927-Sept. 16, 1999

Kenneth H. "Ken" Auble, 72, of Ironton died Thursday at his home after an extended illness.

The Orrville native was born Aug. 11, 1927.

He was the husband of Rose Harris Auble, who survives.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jim Cremeans and Glen Herman officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850 of Ironton.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, Ky. 41101 or to the First United Methodist Church, Fifth and Center streets, Ironton, Ohio 45638.

Carter Scites

July 25, 1922-Sept. 10, 1999

YOUNGTOWN, Ariz. – Carter Eugene Scites, 77, of Youngtown died Sept. 10 after a short illness.

The Pedro, Ohio, native was born July 25, 1922.

He was the husband of Phyllis Jane Scites, who survives.

A memorial service was held Sept. 14 at The Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church, 11025 N. 111th Ave., Sun City, Ariz. 85024.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Colon Cancer Research; or The Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church.

Lula Davis

PORTLAND, Tenn. – Lula Belle Davis, 57, of Portland, formerly of Proctorville, Ohio, died Wednesday in a Portland hospital.

She was the wife of Donald Davis, who survives.

Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.

Mary Haney

Jan. 27, 1903-Sept. 14, 1999

Mary Louise Barron Haney, 96, of Ironton died Tuesday at River Valley Health System.

The Ironton native was born Jan. 27, 1903.

She was the wife of the late Clarke Haney.

They were married for 59 years at the time of his death in 1984. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Lawrence O’Toole and St. Mary’s parishes.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Ironton, with Father Thomas Nau officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coal Grove.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, with a vigil service beginning at 6 p.m., at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.
