Donations of food or money for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas could provide a special holiday meal for a family that might not have much to eat otherwise. And, after the holidays are over, your continued support could keep that same family eating well all winter long.

November is a busy time. People are scurrying around trying to get ready for company and get a head start on their holiday shopping.

As you go about your pre-holiday errands this week, stop by one of the local churches or the City Mission and drop off a donation of canned food for the needy. Or, if you don’t want to drop off the food at a church or your pastor doesn’t know where to send your gift, bring your cans and boxes to The Tribune. We will make sure that it gets to the local charities that take care of the poor.

Holidays are sad when there is no money for gifts or the traditional holiday trimmings, but it is even sadder when there is no food for the table.

Be a part of making the holidays special for someone who needs a break. In this case, a couple of dollars in food really will make a difference.
