Saturday

IHS Class of 1953 will have its Christmas party Saturday at 7 p.m. at the home of Bob and Kay Rader, 123 N. Sixth St.

Ironton Eagles 895 will have its children’s Christmas party Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a puppet show and Santa will be there for members’ children and grandchildren.

Mason Township trustees have changed the regularly scheduled meeting to Saturday at 7 a.m. due to Christmas.

Rock Hill Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Saturday in the high school cafeteria.

Rock Hill No. 3 Little League Basketball will sponsor a dance for kindergarten through sixth grade Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the grade school. Admission will be $1. Food and refreshments will be sold.

VFW Post 8850 will have its annual children’s Christmas party beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Ironton post.

Washington Township trustees will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Blackfork school building for closing of the 1999 books.

The Lawrence County Humane Society will sponsor Breakfast with Santa Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. Tickets are $4 and include a pancake breakfast.

Senior Citizens Dance will be held at the Lawrence County Multi-Purpose Senior Center in Sybene from 7 to 10 p.m. Music will be provided by Jimmy Stevens on the keyboard. Cost will be $7.50 per person.

Symmes Valley Band Boosters will be wrapping gifts at Cato’s at the Ironton Ames Shopping Center Saturday. Merchandise from other stores are welcome.

Monday

Lawrence County Amateur Radio Emergency Service will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the EMA/911 building at 515 Park Ave. Traffic handling and plans for helping if Y2K strikes are among topics.

Lick Creek Independent Baptist Church will be giving out used clothing and toys for the needy from 10 a.m. to noon Monday in the fellowship hall located on County Road 15.

Announcements

Donations of new toys for children 6 and under will be accepted at the Ironton High School basketball games Thursday and Friday evenings for the families of Cabletron and Ironton Iron. A party will be held at the Ironton Sports Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Rock Hill Classes of 1970 to 1979 are looking for anyone interested in helping organize a reunion for the new millennium. For more information, call Laura Taylor at 533-9151 or get in touch with Ted Murnahan.

Boy Scout Troop 115 has begun its annual Christmas tree sale. For the freshest cut trees, visit the lot in front of Sam’s Club in Burlington.

The Jones Street branch of Firstar Bank in Ironton is collecting non-perishable food items and new toys for the City Mission. Each person who donates a new toy will receive $5. The drive will continue through Wednesday, Dec. 22. For information, call 532-1842.
