Chesapeake’s fast-paced running style proved too much as it routed the Southeastern Panthers 78-33 Tuesday.

Chesapeake built a huge first half lead and never looked back to improve its record to 5-0 on the season.

"We played well the first half and then we just backed off of our press the second half," Chesapeake coach Norm Persin said. "We need to get things going. We’ve got our league coming up and we have to be ready."

Anthony Delimpo had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Chesapeake. Zeb Best had 12 points and nine rebounds while Bobby Barbour scored 12 and had five steals.

Adam Pemberton and Andy Clark had four assists each while combing for 14 points.

Best scored 8 points the first quarter as Chesapeake dashed to a 23-6 lead.

The onslaught continued the second quarter as Barbour knocked down 9 points and Chesapeake surged to a 48-14 halftime cushion.

Chesapeake improved its lead to 63-23 after three quarters and Josh Waugh scored 6 points the fourth quarter to help set the final score.

D. J. Barnhard had 11 points to pace Southeastern.

Chesapeake hosts Ironton next Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Trimble 56, Rock Hill 53

Glouster – The Trimble Tomcats used some clutch foul shooting to beat the Rock Hill Redmen 56-53 Tuesday.

Trimble converted 17-of-28 from the foul line while Rock Hill was just 2-of-3.

Trent Patton had 12 points, six rebounds, 12 assists, and four steals to lead the Tomcats, now 2-3.

Brent McCoy had a game-high 22 points including three 3-pointers to pace the Redmen. Billy Mullins added 10 points.

Trimble was up 16-13 at the end of the first quarter and led 31-25 at the half.

Rock Hill (3-3) got within 46-42 after three quarters and outscored Trimble 11-10 the fourth quarter but could not overtake the Tomcats.

The Redmen play at St. Joe Tuesday, Dec. 28.

In the reserve game, Rock Hill won 45-33.
