The Trailblazers spent the weekend playing a pair of games, falling to NCAA Div. II West Virginia State 83-64 Saturday and then bouncing back to rout Indiana East University 126-64 Sunday.

Derek Combs and Momir Gajic had 14 points each to lead the Trailblazers. Leading scorer Andrew Stevens was held to 11 points.

Maurice Creek did grab 11 rebounds and Gajic pulled down 10.

Nyck Fossitt scored 1 and Jevon Green 12 to lead WVSU. Tyrone Still and Harold Howard added 10 each.

OUSC fell behind 49-28 at the half as Howard scored 10 points and Fossitt and Brown had 8 each. The Trailblazers were led by Stevens with 7 and Gajic had 6.

Ohio Southern came back to outscore the Yellowjackets 36-34 the second half, but they could not overcome the huge deficit.

In Sunday’s game, all 11 players scored as the Trailblazers cruised over outmanned Indiana East.

Maurice Creel had a big game with 25 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Stevens knocked down 22 points, Derek Combs had 20 points, Dan Bean 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Matt Wilson 15 points.

Combs also had eight assists and C. J. Captain six. OUSC had 32 assists as a team.

Ohio Southern built a big first half lead and never looked back. Stevens scored 15 points, Combs 14, and Creel 12 as OUSC went up 69-31 at the break.

Creel scored 13 and Bean 10 the second half as the Trailblazers improved to 9-13.

Frank Gross had a game-high 31 points to lead Indiana East. Rodney Belcher added 11.

Ohio Southern hosts St. Clair College of Windsor, Ontario, twice next weekend, 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
