Franklin Furnace – In the words of the late, great comedian Jimmy Durante, "Everybody’s trying to get into the act." And that’s fine with coach Melissa Brown.

The Green Lady Bobcats used a team effort including three players in double figures as they beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 75-58 Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

"All the girls played a good game overall," Brown said. "One thing that’s different than last year, we’re putting three and four players in double figures which shows a lot of team work. We don’t have just one go-to guy."

Megan Tackett scored 24 points and had nine assists and four steal to lead win. Jennifer Cline had 20 points and nine rebounds while Courtney Moore had 14 points, 10 assists, five rebounds, and four steals.

"Cline is playing well right now, and Tackett hit two big 3’s, so that has to help her confidence," Moore said.

Renee Donahoe had 17 points to lead four Lady Vikings in double figures. Rebecca Mount scored 13 while Keren Bell and Holly Wilson had 5 each.

"We’re playing better offensively, but now we need to pick it up on defense," Vikings coach Rob Bess said.

Tackett dropped in 9 points the first quarter as Green raced to a 21-7 lead.

The lead went to 37-31 at the half as Tackett scored 9 more points. Donahoe had 10 points in the quarter to keep the Lady Vikings close.

Cline’s 9 points the third quarter extended Green’s cushion to 58-44 after three quarters.

Green, 6-3 overall and 5-0 in the SOC. host Portsmouth Notre Dame Thursday in a league.

Symmes Valley, 1-8 and 0-5, plays at Beaver Eastern Thursday in an SOC game. However, Eastern teachers were expected to start a strike early Tuesday morning and thus postpone all games.
