Andrew Stevens had 20 points, Momir Gajic 16, and Maurice Creel 12 to lead the Trailblazers. C. J. Captain had nine points, seven assists, and seven rebounds. Creel also had seven rebounds and Gajic six.

Steve Talbot Jr. scored 20 points to pace St. Clair while Jimmy Parsons added 10 points.

Gajic had 10 points to lead OUSC to a 42-23 cushion the first half. Stevens added 8 points, David Johnson 7, and Creel 6.

St. Clair came back to outscore the Trailblazers by 11 the second half as Talbot scored 14 and Parsons 8. Stevens had 12 points and Captain 7 to keep OUSC ahead.

"We let them back in it defensively, but we didn’t panic. They did some things to slow the game down the second half," OUSC coach Ed Fry said. "They had some decent athletes. Give them some credit.

"But it was a good win. We were able to win and still got the opportunity to work on some things we needed. Getting to face some of the things we did in a game situation was good, so hopefully that will help us down the road."

On Saturday, Ohio Southern beat St. Clair behind a 26-point performance by Stevens. The junior guard hit five 3-pointer in his total.

Derek Combs had 22 points while Creel got 16 points and 13 rebounds. Captain finished with 10 points and nine assists and Gajic also had 10 points.

Parsons led St. Clair with 21 points. Talbot got 13, Alphonso Shreve 12, and Shawn Carrington and Steve Brnardic 10 each.

Stevens scored 16 points, Combs 13, and Creel 8 the first half as OUSC took a 40-35 lead. Shreve and Parsons had 7 each to keep St. Clair within striking distance.

But Captain, Gajic, and Stevens had 10 points each with Combs getting 9 and Creel 8 the second half to more than offset 14 points by Parsons.

"We started a little sluggish, but we came out and played better. The second half we picked it up," Trailblazers coach Ed Fry said.

Ohio Southern, now 11-13, will host Kentucky Christian College Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Ironton Sports Center.
