Helen Tipton, 76, of Ironton died Sunday at her home.

The Wheelwright, Ky., native was born July 9, 1923. She was the wife of the late Chester C. Tipton.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home, with pastor Jeff Davenport officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Leonard Cron

April 8, 1901-Jan. 22, 2000

Leonard F. Cron, 98, of Ironton died Saturday at River Valley Health System.

The Lawrence County native was born April 8, 1901. He was the husband of the late Magnolia Sexton Cron.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wilgus-Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Lavender officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hayes-Phillips Funeral Home.

Sidney Scott

Jan. 21, 2000-Jan. 21, 2000

ASHLAND, Ky. – Sidney Shane Scott, infant, died at birth Friday at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

The Ashland native was born Jan. 21, 2000.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.

There will be no visitation.

Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Violet Berger

April 7, 1919-Jan. 22, 2000

ASHLAND, Ky. – Violet Virginia Berger, 80, of Ashland, formerly of Ironton, Ohio, died Saturday at the home of her son in Ashland.

The Hartwell, W.Va., native was born April 7, 1919. She was the wife of the late Harold Franklin Berger.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Zoar Cemetery in Coal Grove.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dorothy Fox

April 12, 1926-Jan. 23, 2000

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Dorothy Blankenship Fox, 73, of Huntington died Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital after an extended illness.

The Huntington native was born April 12, 1926. She was the wife of William Vernon Fox, who survives.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Slack Funeral Home, with the Revs. Willard Blankenship and Kenneth Jiles officiating.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Harold Evans

Aug. 26, 1920-Jan. 23, 2000

RUSSELL, Ky. – Harold "Banty" Evans, 79, of Russell died Sunday at his home.

The Raceland native was born Aug. 26, 1920. He was the husband of Mollie Taylor Evans, who survives.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens, with Jimmy Tingler officiating.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Russell Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to Ashland Hospice or a favorite charity.

Evans Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.

Ralph Clark

Ralph Clark, 81, of Ironton died Monday at King’s Daughters’ Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

Arrangements are pending at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.
