The suspect, Prudence Querida Woolfolk Dotson, 31, of Ninth Street West in Huntington faces charges of possession of crack cocaine and preparation of drugs for sale, both felonies, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, said Tim Sexton, chief investigator for Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr.’s office and director of the Lawrence County Drug Task Force.

Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested Ms. Dotson on U.S. 52 at the Charley Creek Road intersection after several law enforcement agencies chased her from Huntington into the county late Wednesday, Sexton said.

The Federal Drug Task Force – respresenting the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, West Virginia State Police and Huntington police – had been pursuing her in Huntington when she entered the county.

"They were aware she was wanted on warrants over there and attempted to stop her in Huntington when she fled into Ohio," Sexton said.

Sheriff’s deputies stopped Ms. Dotson a short distance later on U.S. 52 and drugs were found during a search of the vehicle.

Members of the Lawrence County Drug Task Force and the Ohio Highway Patrol assisted in the arrest and investigation, Sexton said.

She was lodged at the Lawrence County Jail. Her arraignment was scheduled this morning in Lawrence County Municipal Court in Chesapeake.

Ms. Dotson also faces charges in West Virginia.
