Tuesday’s primary election will be important to Lawrence County voters. Not only will we choose people to represent us on local government seats, but also we will decide the fate of several levies.

These levies affect how we live – like with the Lawrence Township fire levy renewal – and they affect how our children learn – like with the South Point Local School District’s bond levy.

Decisions about these levies need to be made.

But the only way it will work is if residents head to their polling places.

Don’t think your vote doesn’t matter, either. The difference between the right choice and the wrong choice often has been a matter of one or two votes.

So, give it some thought, ask questions about the issues, but don’t forget to vote.

Our lives and our children’s futures depend on it.
