This is the National Week of the Young Child. In its honor, the Lawrence County Early Childhood Center organized activities and an open house that left everyone with a sense that young children’s education is the most important part of all our lives.

They should be commended for undertaking such a mission.

Today, we know more than ever before the importance of a child’s earliest years in shaping their learning and development.

Children deserve the best healthcare, the best community support, the best education. And their parents deserve the ability to provide those things.

The Week of the Young Child is a time to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child, and their families, receive that type of early environment.

It will make a difference in their lives.

Make the early years count as the very best learning years for all children. Find out what you can do to help.

That’s what this week is all about.
