Rock Hill took advantage of seven Coal Grove errors to mount its comeback and hand the Hornets a key setback in the OVC race.

"We just had too many errors," Hornets coach John Jones said. "I’ve seen two different teams this year. I’ve seen the team that was 4-0 and the team that’s gone 0-3. I hope we see that 4-0 team again."

Rock Hill took a 2-0 lead in the second. Nate Lambert and Kyle Lewis singled, Dave Schug reached on an error, Josh Harper had a sacrifice fly, and Richie Webb an RBI single.

Coal Grove came back with five runs in the third to lead 5-2.

David Webb singled, Ryan Brown and Tim McClean walked, and Jarred Keaton had a two-run double. Dean Mader followed with another two-run double, Josh Keaton and Scott Lewis walked, and Webb singled home Mader.

Rock Hill rallied with a run in the bottom of the inning when J. D. Gore and Tanner Heaberlin reached on errors, Nate Lambert walked, and Lewis singled in Gore.

The Hornets got the run back in the fourth. Jarred Keaton doubled, Mader walked, and Josh Keaton had a run-scoring single.

Rock Hill scored three times in the fourth to tie the game at 6-6.

Harper had a one-out solo home run to start the rally. Webb, Tyler Virgin, and Heaberlin all singled for two more runs.

The winning rally came in the sixth as Rock Hill scored four times.

Webb and Virgin singled, Gore reached on a fielder’s choice, Heaberlin had an RBI single and a throwing error on the play allowed two more runs to score with Heaberlin going to third. Lambert grounded out as the final run scored.

Harper went the distance to get the win as he struck out seven, gave up eight hits, and walked eight.

The Redmen had 13 hits with Richie Webb and Kyle Lewis going 3-for-4. Virgin and Heaberlin were 2-4.

David Webb was 3-4 and Jarred Keaton 2-3 for the Hornets.

Coal Grove, 4-3 and 3-2 in the OVC, hosts Ironton Thursday and travels to Chesapeake Friday for an OVC game.
