"We had a bunch of hits and we haven’t done anything for six days, so that was nice to see," Fairland coach Roger Snyder said.

Ryan Boso went 4-for-4, Stuart Shepherd 3-3 including a grand slam and six runs batted in, and J. W. Jones 3-4 with five RBI to lead the Fairland assault.

Matt Roy went five innings for the win. He struck out five, did not walk a batter nor allow a hit. Roy also went 2-3 at the plate.

Fairland jumped out to a 7-0 lead the first inning.

Boso doubled, Jeremy Louden had an infield single, Leadmon spanked a two-run double, Toby Morrison walked, and Shepherd belted his grand slam.

Three more runs scored in the second.

Morrison walked, Shepherd beat out an infield hit, J. W. Jones and Josh Dunfee walked to force in a run, Tim Adkins hit a sacrifice fly, and a bases-loaded walk to Boso forced in the final run.

Five walks, an error, and singles by Tyler Virgin and Dave Schug helped the Redmen score seven runs in the second and make it 10-7.

But the Dragons came back with two runs in the third.

Morrison singled, Shepherd walked, both moved up on a passed ball, and J. W. Jones smacked a two-run single.

The lead went to 15-7 in the fourth.

Boso led off with a base hit, Louden reached on an error, Morrison walked, and Shepherd walked to force home Boso. J. W. Jones then doubled home two more runs.

Fairland exploded for 11 runs in the fifth to generate the mercy rule win. A total of 11 different players had an RBI as Snyder emptied his bench.

Fairland is 7-3 and 3-2 in the league.

"We just need to keep winning. If we can play well against Coal Grove and Chesapeake, we can stay in it," said Snyder.
