Lighthouse Christian Bookstore is located conveniently at 1629 Ashland Road in Suite 6 of the Applegate Shopping Center in Greenup, Ky., and is your headquarters for all your spiritual needs.

Among the store’s comprehensive offerings are the Thompson Chain Reference Bible, Gaither videos, Nelson and Zondervan Bibles, religious giftware for every occasion and a wide selection of angels, lighthouses and other items. To make a gift of a Bible even more special, the store offers engraving on the cover, such as the recipient’s name or a special date associated with the gift.

Lighthouse Christian Bookstore also carries more than 3,000 soundtracks as well as a large selection of Christian fiction, study guides and Christian living books by such renowned authors as Max Lucado, John Hagee, Kenneth Hagin, Charles Swindoll and Helen Steiner Rice.

The store opened in June of 1997 in New Boston and then closed in December 1999 to move to the Applegate Shopping Center in Greenup, Ky.

Peggy Nichols is the store’s owner, and her son, Raymond Nichols Jr., serves as manager. Her daughter, Crystal Nichols, oversees merchandising and creative design, and her husband, Raymond Nichols, also helps at the store.

Lighthouse Christian Bookstore is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.

"Yes, Lighthouse Christian Bookstore is a business, but we look at it as a ministry to the community and a service to area residents," Mrs. Nichols said proudly.

The store is happy to special order any item not in stock. Special orders are done weekly at no additional charge.

"The response has been great, and the people of the area are very supportive and excited about our business in Greenup," Mrs. Nichols said.
