"We’re in the process of getting it straightened out from it," said Jim Wilson, course manager. "We need to get temporary power and run down some carts for use. But we’ll be open for business."

The fire, which began shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, claimed about 29 golf carts and chargers.

"We have 12 left," Wilson said. "But all the chargers are down. I’m going to have to run down some rental carts."

Although the incident is still under investigation, club officials suspect an electrical malfunction was to blame for the fire, Wilson said.

Fire department officials could not be reached for comment before presstime.
