The Ohio boys All-Star team had six players in double figures as they rolled to a 130-113 win Saturday and swept the West Virginia All-Stars in the two-game series.

It was a sweep in the girls series, too, as Ohio spanked West Virginia 73-58.

Miami of Ohio recruit Julius Johnson scored 27 points - he had four dunks – and was named the Most Valuable Player as he led the Ohio stars. Johnson had 25 points in Friday’s 108-100 win.

Josh Almanson, who will play at Bowling Green State, scored 23 to back Johnson.

Roman Sato, who has signed with Xavier, was next with 18 points while Ohio State signee Matt Marinchick scored 16 and Kentucky recruit Eric Daniels 15.

Josh Helm rounded out the double figures with 10 points and Rock Hill’s Brian Tennant chipped in six points for Ohio.

West Virginia was led by Rick Cottrill with 26 points. Cottrill has signed with Eastern Michigan. College of West Virginia signee Leon Smith was next with 24.

Jay Hewitt, who will play at West Virginia, scored 12 while Patrick Jones and Greg Davis, both headed for the University of Charleston, had 11 points each.

Ohio led 45-39 late through the first half, then surged to a 67-51 lead at the break.

Cottrill and Smith, who combined for 11 3-point goals in the game, rallied West Virginia to within 103-96, but Johnson, Sato, Marinchick, and Almanson proved too strong as Ohio rebuilt its cushion and coasted to the win.

In the girls game, South Florida recruit Sarah Lochmann scored 22 points and Indiana recruit Schelley Stahle earned MVP honors with 13 points.

Tracy Wyatt and Beth Brewer scored 11 points apiece and Erica Marcum 10 to top the West Virginia scoring.

Ohio jumped out to a 21-8 lead only to have West Virginia get within 21-19. But Ohio pulled away to a 40-29 halftime lead as the Buckeye State stars led the entire game.
