Ivan Davis

March 2, 1922-Oct. 7, 2000

SOUTH POINT – Ivan B. Davis, 78, of South Point died Saturday at Heartland of Riverview after an extended illness.

The Huntington, W.Va., native was born March 2, 1922, the son of the late Hiram W. and Mae Wilson Davis.

He was the husband of Joycelyn H. Davis, who survives.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Bible Church, Solida Road, with the Rev. Terry Noble officiating.

Visitation will be after 6 pm. Wednesday at the church.

Tracy Brammer Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Beatrice Rife

DAYTON – Beatrice Rife, 93, of Dayton died today.

Arrangements are pending at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton.

Vivian Lipker

Aug. 26, 1945-Oct. 7, 2000

Vivian L. Lipker, 55, of Ironton died Saturday at River Valley Health System in Ironton.

The Ironton native was born Aug. 26, 1945, the daughter of the late Leo and Lucy I. Carden Lipker.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Neil Salvaterra officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Frank Taylor

Feb. 1, 1935-Oct. 7, 2000

Our beloved Frank R. "Dutch" Taylor, 65, of Ironton died Saturday evening, Oct. 7, 2000, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.

He was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Ironton, Ohio, the son of the late Ernest C. Taylor and Mabel Newman Taylor.

He was the husband of Agnes "Aggie" Grifka Taylor, who survives.

The U.S. Air Force veteran was retired as a captain from the Ironton Fire Department with, 30 years of service and he was a bus driver for the Ironton City Schools, with 37 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, lifetime member of the VFW Post 8850 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles 895. He attended Ironton schools and lived all his life in Ironton.

He also was preceded in death by three brothers, James "Fred" Taylor, William E. Taylor, Ernest "Jake" Taylor; and two sisters, Rosemary Beasley and Shirley Henry.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary Ann and Kevin Dufore of Ironton and Jennifer Taylor of Columbus; two sons, Jim Taylor of Ashland, Ky., and Mike Taylor of Ironton; six grandchildren, Kevy and Katie Dufore, Maria, Michael, Casie and Robin Taylor, all of Ironton; one sister and brother-in-law, Avanelle "Abby" and Charles Robinson of Ironton; and a special friend, Dorris Meredith of Ironton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Thomas Nau officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be members of the Ironton Fire Department.
