Deputies responded to an anonymous call reporting gunshots near 338 Private Road 856 Township Road 251, South Point, between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., deputy Scott White said.

"We were investigating an anonymous call of shots being fired from or around the residence of Eugene Clark," White said. "Upon the arrival of myself and several other officers, several drug instruments were seen in plain site. Clark signed the consents for myself and other officers assisting in the call to search his residence."

The search uncovered 36.7 grams of crack cocaine and a significant amount of Dilaudid, a controlled schedule II narcotic, he said.

Arrested were:

– Kristie L. Creech, 100 Berry Lane, Barboursville, W.Va., on a charge of preparation of drugs for sale.

– Timothy R. Crawford, 1220 Poplar St., Kenova, W.Va., on a charge of possession of crack cocaine.

– Dave A. Gue, 1519 Walnut St., Kenova, on a charge of drug abuse and possession of drug instruments.

– Eugene Clark, 338 Private Road 856 Township Road 251, South Point, on a charge of drug abuse and permitting the abuse of drugs in his residence.

Crawford’s charge is a felony of the first degree, White said.

Gue and Clark are charged with fifth-degree felonies and Creech is charged with a fourth-degree felony, White said.

The deputy said officers from the South Point and Coal Grove police departments, the Ohio Highway Patrol and several other deputies assisted in the incident.
