Vana Aldridge and Brittany Bellamy form a human chain to keep Courtney Palmer, right, from falling into the water as she tries to fish out a turtle with a dip net Saturday at the Isaac Walton League Lake. The three had been fishing together during the league’s traditional fishing derby. The lake on Township Road 140E was the site of the Isaac Walton League’s free annual Kids’ Fishing Derby. Children from around the county gathered for registration after 11 a.m., enjoyed fishing and casting classes at noon, then hit the lake for the fishing derby. The league gave away prizes and furnished refreshments for a fun-filled fishing day. (Photo by Tracy S. Morris.)
