Shuffling a budding collegiate golfing career at Ohio State with classes it would seem like Collins might not have much time for his hometown tournament.

Collins did manage to find the time to work his way through a strong field at the ICC recently and captured his first open-flight title at the club.

Collins held off defending champ Tony Brown and Rick Fannin who finished third. Former champ Rick Hannon finished fourth in the 36-hole medal-play format.

Collins is entering his sophomore year at Ohio State and is on the varsity golf team for the Buckeyes.

He recently won the fall qualifier at Ohio State which is a fall season-opener for the Buckeyes. It is the second consecutive year he has won that tourney.
