The program’s Study Skills Workshops offer tips, tricks, instruction and understanding to junior high students who want to boost their classroom performance, said Terry Tomasek, Gear Up coordinator.

Officials are very pleased, especially with what will be the future results of the workshops, she said.

"One part of the class helped kids understand how they learn so that students and parents can better learn how to study," she added.

All workshops will be held in Ironton High School’s computer lab, room 129.

Interested students or parents can contact junior high guidance counselor Missy Fields.

The dates for the next study skills workshops are: Oct. 24, 26, 31, and Nov. 2. All are held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
