Jennifer Donahue, Ironton water superintendent, watches water containing coal sludge during a "jar test" at the Ironton water plant’s lab Tuesday. After adding treatment chemicals, the sludge settles out just like mud and other particles in river water. Ironton officials predict no harm to the city’s water supply because of the spill upstream on the Big Sandy River.
