At 9 p.m., three white males entered the Speedway at 720 S. Third St. and demanded money from the cashier, reports said.

Officers responded to the call at 9:03 p.m., IPD detective Capt. Chris Bowman said.

"The three males entered the store wearing disguises," he said. "All three were armed with some type of weapon. They maced the victim (a clerk) before demanding money from her. We know one of the suspects carried a blue steel semi-automatic handgun."

After the employee emptied the cash register, the three suspects fled the scene on foot but the employee was unable to determine where they went, Bowman said.

"The victim was transported to, treated and released from River Valley Health System," Bowman said. "She said the suspects were average in height and all were wearing a disguise over their face. The amount of money is still undetermined."

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with any information concerning the incident or the events just prior to or directly following the the robbery can contact IPD at 532-2338.
